junk percussion part one

darts' musician Gary Hammond holds up a round, metal percussion instrument. He is a tall man with grey hair and a blue shirt

Hello! Welcome to the first part in Gary’s junk percussion adventure!

What is junk percussion? Well, it doesn’t mean the stuff you throw away – it’s things and objects from around your home or school that you can make a sound or a rythm from.

Anything goes, as long as you don’t break it. From saucepans to pasta in jars, rustling paper to zips and toys, Gary gives lots of inspiration and ideas for you to build your own junk percussion orchestra.

Watch Gary’s 10 minute video and make a start!
