sing out music challenges
To celebrate Sing Out this year, our musicians have created lots of special music challenges and activities for you to try at home.
Below you’ll find an introduction to the challenge from Janet, teaching you the lyrics to ‘Sing Out’, written by pupils from Owston Park Primary and Willow Primary School. Core Artist Charlotte has also created some fantastic dance moves to go along with the song, which you can learn from the videos below! There are some resources to help you at the top of this page, including a lyric sheet, a pack of creative activities and the track for you to sing along with.
When you have learned the song and dance moves, we would like you to film yourself singing the ‘Sing, sing, sing out’ song and send in your film for us to make it part of a Sing Out Virtual Choir! You can find some helpful tips on how to create your film, and information on how to send it to us in the Sing Out Music Challenge resource at the top of this page. We can’t wait to see your films!
Or have a look at the Kusimama activity – one of our favourite Swahili songs, where you’ll find lots of musical games, information about African instruments and fun activities.
We love a good Pop Medley over here at darts! Especially as part of our Sing Out events! Musician Alice has created some exciting challenges around the genre of Pop music for you to try at home- click on the ‘Pop Medley Challenge’ in the Resources box to have a go.
If you liked Mamma Mia or Frozen, you’ll love our new challenges! Explore popular songs from the films, learn about how they were written and even create your own ABBA inspired costumes! Click on the ‘Mamma Mia Medley Challenge’ or the ‘Frozen Medley Challenge’ in the Resources box to get started.
