Let’s Make Music – a new programme run by Doncaster Music Service!

What is this new programme?

This programme has been launched with the financial support of the William Appleby Memorial Trust, making the cost of lessons lower and therefore more accessible to students.

Lessons are taught in small groups, with a maximum of 4 students per group. Lessons will be for 35 weeks, lasting for 30 minutes at a discounted cost of £14 per session, which is as low as £3.50 per pupil per lesson.

Students will also receive a free instrument to loan so they can learn on a high-quality instrument.

Who is this programme for?

The programme is available for any student wanting to start learning a new instrument. It will cover the first year of their music tuition. Students can join this programme after taking part in First Access sessions with their class, or if they are just interested in learning an instrument!

What can students learn on this programme?

Let’s Make Music includes a wide range of instruments that students can learn, to encourage almost any student who is interested, to have a go!

The instrument groups available are brass, strings, woodwind, tuned percussion, guitar and ukulele. All sessions are taught by experienced and enthusiastic teachers!

As well as learning an instrument music session will boost self-esteem, increase reading skills, encourage self-expression and creativity together with aiding social skills.
